Andy Johnston

Andy Johnston, the Principal of AJ Family Law, brings a wealth of experience and a unique background to his legal practice. Before embarking on his legal career, Andy excelled in sales and marketing, which equipped him with invaluable negotiation skills. Inspired by a Family Court Judge he met during his time as a real estate agent, Andy pursued law studies and graduated in 1994 from Bond University. After completing his articled clerkship and further postgraduate studies at QUT, he was admitted as a solicitor in 1996. Since then, Andy has dedicated himself to family and de facto law, with extensive experience in personal injuries litigation. His ability to navigate complex mediations and negotiations is renowned across the Gold Coast, a testament to his earlier professional experiences and personal insights. His practice spans appearances in all Queensland State Court jurisdictions, the Family, Federal Circuit Courts, and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, as well as various courts in other states. As a married father of two and grandfather to six, Andy draws on his rich personal life to bring empathy and understanding to his clients' situations, aiding in resolving matters outside the courtroom.
