Kate Haddock

Kate Haddock is a distinguished partner with over three decades of experience advising copyright collecting societies and the publishing industry on a wide range of issues concerning enforcement, rate setting, regulation, and commercialisation. Her expertise encompasses licensing structures and copyright management within the music and book publishing industries. Kate is renowned for her adeptness in dispute resolution and has a strong track record in copyright litigation before the Federal Court of Australia and the Copyright Tribunal of Australia. Her extensive legal acumen extends to authorisation and notification proceedings before the ACCC and the Australian Competition Tribunal. Kate plays a pivotal role as a director and board member for various organisations, offering strategic advice on directors' duties. She is currently the Chair of the Australian Copyright Council and Authors Legal and serves as a Director of Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Australia Limited. Her exceptional contributions to the field have earned her a place in the Australian Financial Review's Top 200 Lawyers in Australia for Intellectual Property since 2009. As a founding partner of Banki Haddock Fiora in 1995, Kate has made significant contributions to the firm's success.
