Marion Benjamin

Marion Benjamin is the Principal of Benjamin & Dawson Lawyers and Wollongong Conveyancing Services, leading the practice since early 2021. She began her legal career in the Riverina region in 2015 before relocating to the Illawarra in 2018, fulfilling her desire to live and work by the sea. Admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in July 2015, Marion is also registered to practise before the High Court of Australia. Her practice encompasses a broad range of Family Law matters, where she is known for her compassionate and client-focused approach. Understanding the significant stress and complexities involved in Family Law cases, Marion is dedicated to guiding her clients through these challenges with sensitivity and care. Marion places a strong emphasis on resolving disputes outside of court and is committed to negotiation and mediation to achieve the best possible outcomes for her clients. In addition to Family Law, her work includes Wills and Estates, Probate, Family Provision, and Elder Law. Marion is particularly engaged in supporting elderly clients, especially those confronting elder abuse and financial exploitation. Before pursuing law, Marion completed a degree in Literature and gained diverse professional experience as a documentary filmmaker, researcher, and academic. During her law studies through the Legal Profession Admission Board, she also managed a regional community environmental organisation. Outside of her legal career, Marion enjoys travel, Australian Football League (AFL), and jazz music.
