

Wayne Condon, the Founder and Principal of Biopharmalex, has devoted over forty years to the practice of law as an accomplished intellectual property litigator. His extensive career has been marked by a profound commitment to assisting life sciences companies in overcoming their most challenging IP, regulatory, and competition law issues. For the past 25 years, Wayne has concentrated on the generic pharmaceutical and biosimilar sectors, working tirelessly to protect their innovations and represent them in pivotal patent litigation, often collaborating with international teams to achieve successful outcomes. In December 2017, Wayne established Biopharmalex, a specialised firm dedicated to Australian IP and life sciences law, based in Melbourne. Prior to this, he was a partner at Griffith Hack for over a decade, where he focused on pharmaceutical and biotechnology patent litigation, along with providing regulatory advice concerning pharmaceuticals, biotherapeutics, and medical devices. His expertise also extended to competition and consumer protection law within the life sciences sector. Wayne’s earlier roles include serving as a partner in the Intellectual Property Group at Clayton Utz from 2001 to 2007, where he honed his skills in patent and IP litigation. Before that, he was a partner at Freehills for nine years, contributing significantly to their Intellectual Property group. His academic credentials include a Master of Laws from Monash University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Auckland, reinforcing his robust foundation and expertise in the legal domain.
