About Andrew
Andrew Ponnambalam is a dedicated solicitor with a robust legal background that began when he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from Murdoch University in 2007. Following his graduation as a mature-age student, Andrew commenced his legal career with Bradley Bayly Legal in 2008, where he honed his skills through a varied caseload that included personal injury matters, property damage claims, and disputes arising from alleged misleading and deceptive conduct. Andrew's expertise expanded to include handling complex legal matters, often involving high-profile defendants such as the Australian Football League. His practice has required navigation of interstate and international jurisdictional challenges, including appearances before the Supreme Courts of New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland, as well as the United States Office of Administrative Law Judges. In 2010, Andrew's growing influence in the field was recognised when he joined the Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury Committee of the Law Society of Western Australia. His commitment to justice was further demonstrated during the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, where he engaged with survivors and lobbied for legislative change to abolish limitation periods on claims. This legislative change came to effect in 2018, marking a significant achievement in his career. After gaining further experience in Sydney, Andrew returned to Bradley Bayly Legal in 2019. His focus continues to be on supporting survivors of child sexual abuse, and he remains a prominent figure recognised in Doyle's Guide Leading Institutional Abuse Compensation Lawyers & Law Firms for 2025. Outside of his professional commitments, Andrew enjoys spending time with his rescue dog on long walks in the park.
