Lidia Monteverdi is a seasoned Senior Associate at Burgan Lawyers, specialising in medical negligence within the firm’s personal injury team. Admitted as a solicitor in 2015, Lidia has honed her expertise across all facets of personal injury law. Her journey at Burgan Lawyers began in February 2024, following her notable contribution to a national firm where she established a thriving medical negligence practice in Newcastle, the Hunter region, and Northern NSW. Her proficiency and dedication in personal injury and medical negligence led her to become an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law in November 2024. Lidia's comprehensive understanding of both law and medicine enables her to distil complex claims processes into clear and comprehensible guidance for her clients. As a senior leader, she was instrumental in mentoring up-and-coming lawyers and paralegals. Lidia's career commenced at Catherine Henry Lawyers, focusing predominantly on medical negligence and health law matters and venturing into succession law and debt recovery. Her formal education was completed at the University of Newcastle, where she earned a Bachelor of Law with a Diploma in Legal Practice, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in Politics & International Relations, and French. When not advocating for her clients, Lidia enjoys the outdoors, particularly mountain biking, which complements her dynamic and tenacious approach to her legal practice.
