Sarah Zanon is the principal and founder of CapitaLegal, bringing over 25 years of extensive legal and management experience in Australia and internationally. She has held general counsel positions in leading Australian financial services and fund management companies, alongside senior management roles in financial and professional services organisations. Sarah's proficiency spans major financing and capital raising transactions, the establishment of investment vehicles, corporate acquisitions, takeovers, and corporate structuring. Her deep understanding of the intricacies involved in providing legal support to dynamic, transaction-driven companies is well recognised. Sarah has successfully managed the corporate and trust services subsidiary of a renowned international law firm. Her corporate sector background enables her to deliver legal advice with a strong commercial focus, prioritising exceptional service and results-driven strategies. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Commerce with an Accounting major and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of NSW, complemented by Graduate Diplomas in Applied Finance and Legal Practice. Having completed the Directors course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors, she is also affiliated with the Law Society of NSW and is a Fellow of FINSIA, admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW. CapitaLegal, established under Sarah's leadership in May 2011, caters to small and medium enterprises, offering advice on capital raising, corporate transactions, and compliance. Her previous role at Codan Trust Company involved overseeing corporate administration services for over 800 client entities in the British Virgin Islands, further cementing her expertise in corporate governance and the management of mutual and hedge funds. Prior positions include legal counsel for CP2 Limited and roles at Babcock & Brown and EquitiLink Limited, where she honed her skills in investment banking and corporate counsel positions.
