Jason Ricketts, currently serving as General Counsel, brings a wealth of experience from his extensive legal career. As Chair of Chord Advisory and a non-executive director within the renewable energy and critical minerals sectors, Jason has demonstrated adept leadership across various industries. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Previously, Jason held the role of General Counsel at The Minderoo Foundation and the Tattarang group of companies, overseen by Dr Andrew Forrest AO and Nicola Forrest AO. Jason's career spans an impressive 30 years at Herbert Smith Freehills, where he was a partner for 24 years focusing on infrastructure projects in sectors such as water, power, health, and transport. As a board member, he played a pivotal role in the global merger with UK firm Herbert Smith. His leadership extended to overseeing the Australian Region and managing the global Finance, Real Estate, Projects, and Latin American businesses. His expertise in infrastructure law saw him acting for both Government and private sectors on major projects, employing various methodologies like PPP/PFI and ECI. Jason's dedication to client services was evident during his tenure as Managing Partner for Australia, where he spearheaded initiatives to enhance client experiences globally. Aside from his legal practice, Jason contributes as a member of the Board of the Art Gallery of Western Australia and Infrastructure WA’s Strategic Expert panel. His academic achievements include a Bachelor of Jurisprudence with Honours and a Masters in Law from The University of Western Australia, alongside further executive education at Harvard Business School.
