Elizabeth Michael is the Director and Founding Principal of our firm, bringing over three decades of substantial legal experience. Before establishing the firm in 1993, Elizabeth honed her skills with prestigious commercial law firms in Melbourne and the United States. Her extensive expertise spans a broad spectrum of areas, notably business law, property, and wills and estates. As a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in both Property Law and Wills & Estates, Elizabeth stands as one of only five solicitors in Victoria with dual accreditation in these fields. She leads our Commercial Law Team, offering expert guidance in complex estate planning, business succession planning, estate disputes, and litigation. Her commitment to personal communication ensures clients receive tailored advice aligned with their objectives. Elizabeth has a particular focus on assisting dual citizens and US expats with intricate estate planning matters, delivering results-oriented and commercial advice. Moreover, she serves as our Notary Public, providing notarial services from our Brighton East office. Elizabeth's legal journey began at Freehills, working in Commercial Litigation, followed by a position as an Associate Lawyer in the USA with Day, Berry & Howard LLP. She holds a Juris Doctor with Honours from Duke University School of Law and a Bachelor's Degree, summa cum laude, from Florida State University, where she majored in Finance and Spanish. A member of the Law Institute of Victoria, Elizabeth remains dedicated to offering exceptional legal service.
