

About Donald
Dr Donald Angus is a Partner with extensive experience in biotechnology and chemistry patent matters. He is regularly engaged in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, as well as handling patent oppositions. In addition to patents, Don advises clients on trade mark matters, contributing his broad knowledge of intellectual property rights across diverse industries and technologies. Don earned his Bachelor of Science with Honours in physical organic chemistry, followed by a PhD in medicinal organic chemistry from the Victorian College of Pharmacy, Monash University. He further honed his research skills during postdoctoral work at Oxford University before moving into intellectual property practice in 2000. Don also holds a Masters of Industrial Property from the University of Technology Sydney. Throughout his career, Don has shared his expertise by presenting seminars on intellectual property topics. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia (IPTA), and a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ). Don has also served as Regional Chair for South Australia in the Licensing Executives Society of Australia & New Zealand. Don’s work spans pharmaceuticals, chemistry, agribusiness, medical devices and technology, defence industries, as well as patent and trade mark matters related to designs.
