
Melissa DeMarco is a highly experienced principal lawyer, admitted to practice in both the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. Melissa has a diverse legal background, providing comprehensive advice and representation across several practice areas including family law, migration law, estate planning, conveyancing, employment law, industrial relations, and work health and safety. Her career as a legal professional began at Shane Ellis Lawyers, followed by a position at Ffrench Commercial Lawyers where she handled matters related to commercial and corporate law, intellectual property, franchising, and insolvency. Melissa then furthered her expertise in workplace relations and commercial litigation at M+K Lawyers, managing complex corporate and employment issues, and providing guidance on mergers, acquisitions, and occupational health and safety. At Colin Biggers & Paisley, she served as a Senior Associate in national practice dealing with employment, industrial relations, and work health and safety. Her depth of experience continued to grow during her tenure as Senior Lawyer at Clayton Utz, focusing on workplace relations. As Special Counsel at Creevey Russell Lawyers, Melissa honed her skills in employment, industrial relations, and migration law. Since 2016, Melissa has led Demarco Law as Principal Lawyer, overseeing an array of legal services including commercial litigation, personal injury, alternative dispute resolution, property, family law, wills and estates, and insolvency and bankruptcy. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Laws from Griffith University, complemented by a post-graduate diploma in legal practice from the College of Law. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of Lethbridge. Her commitment to the community is evident through her role as a volunteer community member with the Queensland State Emergency Service.
