Martin is admitted to practice law in the Supreme Courts of Western Australia, New South Wales and Victoria, as well as the High Court of New Zealand. His legal career includes roles at Bell Gully in New Zealand, Freehills (now Herbert Smith Freehills), and Blake Dawson Waldron (now Ashursts) in Australia, where he gained extensive experience across a wide range of commercial, real estate, and business transactions. His expertise encompasses real estate subdivision and development, building construction and development—including drafting and litigation—sale and leasing projects, as well as aged care and retirement village development. Martin also advises on the establishment and governance of charitable and not-for-profit incorporated associations. Martin’s transactional experience covers business sale and purchase, structuring, real estate ownership and occupation involving buying, selling, leasing, development, property management, financing, legal compliance, and due diligence on behalf of buyers and sellers. He has acted for a diverse client base including multinational, national, and closely held corporations, as well as dynamic entrepreneurial individuals in both Australia and New Zealand. He is an active member of The Law Society of Western Australia, having previously served on its conveyancing sub-committee, and is an associate member of the Taxation Institute of Australia. Martin regularly presents at industry seminars such as those run by the Property Council of Australia and contributes to legal publications, including the Western Australian Division newsletter.
