

Rod Mitchell is the Solicitor Director with a robust background in industrial advocacy and a distinguished career in private practice. His legal journey began as an industrial advocate for a major trade union, dealing with significant industrial disputes, award and contract determinations, and engaging in negotiations with government entities. For the past 16 years, Rod has carved out a reputation in litigation, participating in high-profile cases, including representing plaintiffs in the complex Melbourne Voyager disputes involving the Australian Government. Rod's expertise spans a broad range of legal areas, including insurance disputes, personal injury—with a focus on workers compensation and negligence actions—motor vehicle injury, dust and occupational disease cases, criminal law matters in the local and district courts, industrial and employment law, as well as probate and family provisions claims. His commercial practice addresses building and contractor disputes, along with general litigation. Additionally, Rod assists clients with property, conveyancing, and commercial transactions, guiding them through every step of the process. Rod has also contributed to the academic field as a lecturer in law at the Sydney Institute of Technology for over 16 years and regularly presents seminars on Powers of Attorney, Wills, and guardianship.
