

Callan Lloyd is the Managing Director of Gilshenan & Luton, having joined the firm in 2011 and elevated to director in 2020. His expertise spans complex criminal and professional discipline proceedings, where he serves as both solicitor advocate and instructing solicitor. Callan's practice encompasses superior court hearings, coronial inquests, disciplinary hearings, and commissions of inquiry. He possesses a keen interest in assisting legal professionals with discipline proceedings related to the Queensland Law Society and Legal Services Commission, as well as supporting various professionals in misconduct investigations. Callan's work also extends to advising government entities on regulatory prosecutions and enforcing statutory powers. In recognition of his proficiency, he attained specialist accreditation in criminal law in 2018, further cementing his reputation in the field. As Chair of the Queensland Law Society's Specialist Accreditation Committee in Criminal Law, and a member of the Proctor Committee, Callan contributes significantly to the profession. His editorial role for the Queensland College of Law’s text on Conducting Pleas of Guilty reflects his commitment to legal education. Outside of his legal career, Callan is actively engaged in triathlons, having represented Australia and competed in both Ironman and Ultraman events. He balances his professional achievements with family life, sharing his love for trail running and beach outings with his wife, Nicole, and their two children.
