Greg Robertson

Greg Robertson, admitted as a solicitor in 1975, has a distinguished career in law, marked by significant roles in both private practice and government. After initially gaining diverse experience in litigation, Greg joined the New South Wales Department of Industrial Relations in 1979 as a legal officer, the same year he earned a Master of Laws degree with honours from the University of Sydney. His tenure as Deputy Industrial Registrar and then as Industrial Registrar provided him with a profound understanding of the New South Wales Industrial Relations system and senior-level government employment. Since joining Harmers Workplace Lawyers in 2000, Greg has been pivotal across all areas of the firm's practice. His expertise extends to major litigation in the Industrial Court of New South Wales and encompasses a broad spectrum of employment law. He advises both Australian and international employers on matters such as employment contracts, individual and collective agreements, protection of confidential information, intellectual property, restraint of trade, and handling unfair dismissal and adverse action claims. Greg's litigation experience spans State and Federal Industrial Tribunals, the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, Federal Circuit Court, and the High Court. He also provides counsel to senior individuals on issues surrounding their employment contracts, remuneration, and termination. His advisory role extends to registered organisations on rules and registration issues. In addition to his legal practice, Greg has co-authored the online Practical Guide to Work Health and Safety through Lexis Nexis, alongside Sophie Redmond and Margaret Diamond, solidifying his expertise in work health and safety matters.
