Phil Hayward

Phil Hayward is the Principal of Haywards Solicitors and is an accredited specialist in Employment and Industrial Law with the Law Society of New South Wales. Since his admission as a solicitor in 1990, Phil has consistently demonstrated his expertise in Industrial Relations and Employment. His career began with senior roles at prominent organisations such as the Australian Mine Metals Associations, the NSW Chamber of Manufacturers, and the NSW Employers Federation. In 1995, he founded Haywards Solicitors, having previously been a Senior Solicitor with Freehill Hollingdale & Page, and a Senior Associate at Minter Ellison. Phil's extensive experience encompasses over three decades of legal practice, during which he has honed his skills in the areas of employment and industrial law. His leadership at Haywards Solicitors is marked by innovative client services and strategic advocacy. His earlier career included significant responsibility as a Senior Industrial Advocate and Team Leader, where he managed advocacy teams in industries ranging from food and beverage to logistics. Phil's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Technology, Sydney, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Industrial Relations from the University of New South Wales. He completed his Practical Legal Training at the College of Law, NSW, and is currently advancing his expertise through a Masters in Commercial Litigation. Throughout his education, Phil was actively involved in law and industrial relations societies, contributing to his well-rounded approach to legal practice.
