Penny McCreery

Penny McCreery, the Principal and Practice Manager at Horizon Legal Group, began her legal career in 2000, gaining valuable experience as a legal secretary and conveyancing clerk. Her path led her to work with major banks in mortgage conveyancing, further refining her expertise in property law. She completed her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Southern Queensland and a Post Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice at QUT, with her admission as a solicitor in the Supreme Court following in 2017. Penny's legal experience spans numerous regional areas, including Maryborough, Childers, and Bundaberg, where she adeptly handled matters in property law, criminal law, family law, and wills and estates. In 2019, she returned to Brisbane and briefly practiced in criminal law before joining Lember & Williams, now known as Horizon Legal Group, in 2020. Her dedication and leadership led her to acquire the business in 2022. At Horizon Legal Group, Penny plays a crucial role in mentoring the team and managing the practice. She actively engages with the community by speaking at events on significant legal topics, such as estate planning, elder abuse, and deceased estate administration. Penny's career has been diverse, with positions including a solicitor at Burchill Horsey Lawyers, where she worked on criminal law and family law matters, and at Finemore Walters & Story, where she focused on property law, conveyancing, and business sales. Her early experiences also include roles in financial services, which provided her with a strong foundation in client service and documentation management. Penny's commitment to providing exceptional legal services and her passion for community education make her a respected figure in the legal field.
