Brian brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished career path to his role as Principal Lawyer and Director of Intercept Law. With over 20 years of service as a former police officer with the NSW Police Force, Brian honed his investigative skills and expertise, particularly during his time as a detective in the Homicide Unit. His involvement in high-profile cases such as the Backpacker inquiry and the disappearance of Christopher Flannery has equipped him with invaluable insights that he now applies in the legal arena. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Laws from the University of New England, completed in 2004, and furthered his legal education with a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2005. By 2007, Brian had earned a Master’s degree in Law, followed by a Master’s in Applied Laws (Family Law) in 2010. Brian's legal career commenced at a regional law firm in Bathurst before he launched his own private practice on the Central Coast. In 2014, he became the Principal Lawyer and Director of Intercept Law, where he leverages his extensive background in both Criminal Law and Family Law to deliver clear, concise, and invaluable legal advice. His comprehensive experience in criminal law ensures that clients receive expert legal representation in both the Local and District Courts, leading to successful outcomes. In family law, he regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia across Sydney, Parramatta, and Newcastle, handling a wide range of disputes. Brian also serves as an Independent Children’s Lawyer, advocating for children's best interests in challenging parenting disputes with a compassionate and dedicated approach.
