Isaiah Okorie is a distinguished Lawyer and Registered Migration Agent with a profound passion for migration and refugee law, alongside a strong focus on maritime law and policy. He began his legal career as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2007, later expanding his credentials to New Zealand and Australia in 2015. Isaiah holds a Bachelor of Law degree with First Class Honours from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Further enhancing his academic credentials, he achieved dual Master of Laws degrees from New York University and the National University of Singapore in 2012. Committed to continuous learning, he has pursued advanced studies, including a Graduate Certificate in Research from the University of Tasmania and a Graduate Certificate of Public Administration from the University of Canberra. Currently, Isaiah is engaged in PhD research at the Australian National University, exploring international law. Professionally, Isaiah is the Principal Solicitor at Swiviva Law Firm, a generalist practice with core strengths in migration, shipping, civil, and commercial litigation. Additionally, he has lent his expertise as a Sessional Academic at both the Australian National University and the University of Tasmania, contributing to the field of maritime law. Isaiah's governmental roles include serving as a Senior Policy Officer at the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development. As a Deputy Registrar for the ACT Government and a Grants Coordinator at the Department of Social Services, he has demonstrated his commitment to public policy and administration. Outside his professional life, Isaiah is an entrepreneur with a keen interest in start-ups, and he enjoys music, soccer, walking, travelling, and hiking. His diverse experiences and academic background enable him to provide tailored migration advisory services across a wide range of visa classes.
