Annette Lakey, Principal of Lakey Family Law and Mediation, is renowned for her dedication to resolving family law matters with a focus on amicable solutions. Hailing from country Victoria, Annette's passion for law and helping others led her to pursue a combined Arts and Law degree at Monash University, where she graduated with Honours. Her career commenced in regional Victoria before she moved to the city to further hone her expertise in family law. Benefiting from the mentorship of industry leaders, she practiced in both Brisbane and Melbourne, gaining valuable experience in mid-tier firms. Her commitment to alternative dispute resolution was solidified with a Mediation qualification from Bond University in 2012, which paved the way for her accreditation as a mediator. This qualification allows Annette to facilitate quicker, more cost-effective resolutions outside the court system, often leading to better outcomes for families. In 2015, Annette founded Lakey Law, a comprehensive Family Law and Mediation practice devoted to achieving the best possible outcomes. Her dedication extends to her voluntary work at the Fitzroy Legal Service Family Law Clinic, where she offers her expertise to those in need. She is also an active member of the Law Institute of Victoria, its Education Committee, the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, and is a registered mediator with the Australian Mediation Association. Annette's extensive career has included roles such as Senior Associate at Pearsons Lawyers and Special Counsel at Goldman Legal.
