Megan Lawton, a dedicated Territorian, began her legal journey with studies in Darwin and Canberra. Following her tenure as a lobbyist in Canberra, she was admitted as a legal practitioner in the Northern Territory in 2002. Megan's career has been diverse, encompassing roles as a Darwin lawyer, in-house counsel for government, and most notably as the CEO of the Law Society Northern Territory. She has channelled her passion for law and governance into developing a boutique service that aligns her legal acumen with her management expertise. Her advisory experience includes work with Indigenous corporations on licensing agreements and conducting constitutional reviews for a variety of organisations including industry associations, arts bodies, and educational institutions. Megan has also played a pivotal role in implementing diversity strategies and addressing unconscious bias, while leading initiatives such as a Reconciliation Action Plan. Her legal guidance extends to employee performance issues, work health and disputes, strategic and business planning, as well as directors and officers liability. Her leadership and innovation have been recognised through numerous accolades, including being a finalist in the Telstra Business Women's Awards and the Lawyer's Weekly Women in Law Awards in 2015. Megan is also an Australian Legal Practitioner Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, further highlighting her comprehensive expertise and commitment to excellence.
