

Joseph Lukaitis AM RFD is a distinguished Principal Solicitor and Notary Public with over 40 years of legal practice experience. His expertise encompasses property law, commercial law, and estate planning, through which he serves as a trusted advisor and strategist to several companies and foundations. As a recognised authority in his field, Joseph was appointed a Notary Public in 1992 and actively contributes to the academic community by lecturing in Notarial Practice at Victoria University. His international presence is marked by the presentation of papers at global law conferences. In addition to his legal practice, Joseph serves as an advisor to the RMIT Legal Practice Business School and has been acknowledged for his mentorship with the Law Institute Mentor of the Year Award in 2012, highlighting his commitment to nurturing young legal professionals. His leadership roles include past presidencies at the Society of Notaries Victoria and the Australia and New Zealand College of Notaries, where he was honoured as a Distinguished Fellow in 2019. Joseph’s dedication extends into his role as the National Vice President (Navy) of the Australian Defence Reserves Association, holding the rank of Captain in the Royal Australian Naval Reserve. His naval service was recognised with the Reserve Forces Decoration in 1998. He is deeply involved in community service, acting as the honorary Chairman of the Picchi Brothers Foundation Inc. and as honorary Solicitor for Military History Heritage Victoria and the Lithuanian Catholic Community in Melbourne. For his significant voluntary contributions, Joseph was appointed a member of the Order of Australia in 2019.
