

Matthew Williams is a seasoned solicitor with a wealth of experience in commercial law, commercial litigation, and dispute resolution, having practised since 2010. His practice is enhanced by a solid commercial perspective, honed through his representation of publicly listed companies, private enterprises, property investors, and high-income individuals. Admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia, Matthew is adept at handling matters across all Australian jurisdictions. His engagement in various business ventures spanning property, retail, consumer brands, and technology provides him with a practical business insight, enriching his legal advice with a deep understanding of business risks and growth opportunities. This unique perspective helps him guide clients beyond purely legal concerns. In recognition of his expertise, Matthew was a national finalist in the dispute resolution category of the Lawyers' Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards in 2017. At MKW Legal, Matthew leads as Legal Practitioner Director, focusing his practice on an array of areas, including defending ASIC prosecutions, building and construction law, intellectual property, succession and estate litigation, complex contractual disputes, franchising litigation, and more. He is also proficient in risk management and alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. Before founding MKW Legal, Matthew refined his skills as a Senior Associate at HW Litigation. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Laws from Griffith University and a Bachelor of Business majoring in Finance. Beyond his legal practice, he contributes to the community as Vice President of the Southport Chamber of Commerce.
