

Wayne Butler is a dedicated solicitor with extensive experience in family, criminal, and commercial law. After completing his Bachelor of Laws in 2018, Wayne was admitted to practice in 2019. His advocacy for children's rights and shared parenting has significantly improved the lives of his clients. As a foundation member of the Shared Parenting Council of Australia, Wayne has worked tirelessly since 2002 to reform the Family Law Act and Child Support legislation. Appointed as the Executive Secretary in 2003, he continues to hold this role, demonstrating his dedication to legal reforms. Wayne has been instrumental in preparing government submissions and representations since 2000, frequently engaging with the Government's drafting offices and attending meetings in Canberra. As an active advocate for Family Law and Child Support reform, Wayne participates in the FaHCSIA Child Support National Stakeholder Engagement Group, representing numerous shared parenting and family organisations. These groups, including the Family Law Reform Association and Lone Fathers Association, encompass around thirty thousand members, whose views Wayne passionately presents to governmental agencies. His accolades include the SPCA Champion of Children Award and a Senate award for service to families, along with recognition in the House of Representatives for his contributions to advancing family interests post-separation and divorce. Wayne practices in commercial, employment, criminal, and family law and maintains memberships with the Law Society of New South Wales and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
