

Michael Montgomery is the Founder and Director of Montgomery Lawyers, bringing extensive expertise in commercial law, with a focus on technology, intellectual property, and corporate matters. His clientele spans diverse industry groups, including IT, telecommunications, infrastructure, media, sports, and entertainment. With a distinguished career that includes roles as a former partner at both national and boutique firms, Michael excels in providing strategic advice on commercial and contractual negotiations. His clients range from listed and private corporations to licensed telecommunications carriers, as well as public and private utilities, venture capitalists, government bodies, high-profile personalities, and elite athletes. Currently a director of the Australian Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Michael has been recognised in the Australian Financial Review's list of Australia's Best Commercial Lawyers. Since founding Montgomery Lawyers in 2014, he has served as Director, and later as Director of Daltrey from 2021. Michael's previous roles include serving as Legal Counsel for Cisco Systems and partner positions at Truman Hoyle and HWL Ebsworth. He began his legal career at Clayton Utz, advancing to Senior Associate and Special Counsel, with secondments at AAPT and Westpac. Michael holds an LLB from Murdoch University, after attending Christ Church Grammar School and Hollywood Senior High School.
