Dean Alexander

Dean Alexander is the Managing Partner of NicholasBlack and brings a wealth of expertise in insolvency law. Recognised as an industry leader, he was a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly top 30 under 30 in 2017, 2018, and 2019, and has been consistently acknowledged in the Partner of the Year awards from 2019 to 2023. Throughout his career, Dean has focused extensively on insolvency and litigation. His roles have included managing a team of insolvency litigators at a boutique firm, holding a senior position within a national firm's disputes and insolvency team, and transforming a boutique practice into a litigation powerhouse. Dean is a graduate of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association, earning the Advanced Certificate in Insolvency. Dean has represented a diverse clientele, from small to medium enterprises to publicly listed companies, both domestically and internationally. His practice includes defending actions by liquidators, representing insolvency practitioners, and engaging in complex litigation to safeguard client interests. With admissions to the High Court of Australia, the Federal Court of Australia, and the Supreme Court of Queensland, Dean is also a member of the Queensland Law Society and ARITA. His legal journey began at Hawthorn Cuppaidge & Badgery Lawyers, followed by positions at Irish Bentley Lawyers, Mills Oakley, and Enyo Lawyers before joining NicholasBlack.
