Christopher O'Brien is a seasoned legal professional and Director at O'Brien Winter Partners, bringing an extensive background in law since his admission as a Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2004. He further achieved the significant milestone of being admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia. Early in his career, Chris honed his skills under the mentorship of esteemed legal minds, Nicolas Moir and Paul Rosser QC, where he gained considerable experience in Criminal Law across all New South Wales Criminal Courts, including the Supreme Court and the Court of Criminal Appeal. Chris is deeply committed to legal education and community service. Since 2006, he has volunteered his expertise at the University of Newcastle, assisting in Moot Trials for aspiring law graduates. He also generously offers his time for legal advice sessions at the Legal Centre. In 2007, he co-founded Morelaw Solicitors and Barristers with Nicolas Moir and Paul Rosser QC. Although the partnership evolved in 2010, his firm continues to collaborate with both Nicolas and Paul in their respective roles within the criminal justice system. In 2012, Christopher O'Brien, alongside Kristy Winter and Damien O'Brien, formed O'Brien Winter Partners, reflecting his continued leadership and vision in legal practice. He plays a pivotal role as the convener of Lawyers for the Broadmeadow Traffic Offenders Program, where he frequently imparts knowledge on legal topics. Chris's qualifications include a Diploma in Law from LPAB, a Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law, and an Associate Diploma of Applied Science in Architectural Drafting. His areas of practice encompass Criminal Law, Traffic Appeals, Commercial Litigation, and Conveyancing.
