

About Kristy
Kristy Winter is the Director and Senior Solicitor at O’Brien Winter Partners, where she primarily focuses on Criminal Law, Traffic Law, and Family Law. Kristy began her legal journey at the University of New England, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Laws. Her academic excellence was recognised by the Golden Key International Honour Society, placing her in the top 15% of undergraduate students in New South Wales. After completing her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the New South Wales College of Law, Kristy was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in August 2009 and to the High Court of Australia the following month. Her initial legal training included working with Nicolas Moir and Associates, where she secured a full-time position upon completion. Kristy has extensive experience advocating in all levels of Criminal Courts across NSW, including the Supreme Court and the Court of Criminal Appeal. She frequently appears in Local and District Courts throughout the Hunter and Sydney, handling complex criminal trials statewide. Under her leadership, O’Brien Winter Partners has expanded its services to include Family Law. In 2013, Kristy became a Director of the firm after completing the Practice Management Course and obtaining her Unrestricted Practicing Certificate. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. Kristy is actively involved with several professional affiliations, including the Law Society of NSW, Newcastle Law Society, and the Traffic Offenders Program Broadmeadow.
