Julie Shead

Julie Shead, the Principal of the firm, brings comprehensive expertise in property transactions, including conveyancing, leases, and the purchase and sale of businesses. Her distinguished career includes her tenure as a partner and Managing Partner at a prominent personal injury litigation firm in the western suburbs, where she oversaw the property's conveyancing, small business, wills, and estates practices. In 1995, Julie was appointed by the Federal Attorney-General as a part-time member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT), tasked with deciding appeals concerning government and taxation decisions. Her contributions were recognised through multiple reappointments over the next eight years. From 1997 to 2004, she served as a part-time Senior Member of the Veteran’s Review Board, hearing appeals related to veterans’ entitlements. Julie holds a Diploma of Law from SAB and a Master of Arts. She is a Chartered Tax Advisor, affiliated with the Taxation Institute of Australia, and serves as a Notary Public. Her commitment to legal and community service is further exemplified by her membership in the South West Area Health Committee, which played a pivotal role in establishing Liverpool Hospital as a University Teaching Hospital. Julie also contributed to the University of Western Sydney’s Committee that founded the University’s Law School. She served on the board of the Women’s Legal Resources Centre during the establishment of Australia’s first Domestic Violence Advocacy Service. Julie remains an active member of the Law Society of NSW’s Revenue Committee and has previously contributed to its Business Law Committee.
