Sara Sugars

Sara Sugars is the Managing Partner at Wallace & Wallace Lawyers, a firm she has been with since her early career as an article clerk in 1994 after graduating from James Cook University. Admitted as a solicitor in 1996, Sara has dedicated over 27 years to practising commercial and property law, progressively advancing within the firm from Associate to Partner in 2016, and now serving as Managing Partner since 2022. Sara's extensive legal experience equips her to offer proactive advice to clients on various commercial issues affecting their daily business operations. Her clientele includes well-established businesses in the Mackay region, a testament to her commitment and expertise in the legal field. Sara harbours a particular interest in rural transactions, with her practice often extending to successive generations of the same families. Her expertise covers a wide array of areas, including rural sales, leases, subdivision and transfer of water allocations, business transactions, and personal and business succession planning. Outside her professional life, Sara actively contributes to community welfare, holding roles on various school boards and Parents & Friends Associations. She holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from James Cook University and is a member of the Queensland Law Society, Mackay District Law Association, and North Queensland Law Association. Sara is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.
