Krista Weymouth

Krista Weymouth is a seasoned legal professional with nearly two decades of experience, currently serving as Special Counsel at Weir Legal and Consulting. Before joining the firm, she was the General Counsel for the Architects Registration Board of Victoria, where she played a key role in providing legal guidance to a state government statutory authority. Her career also includes significant experience with local, State, and Commonwealth regulators, having worked at a prominent law firm and the Australian Government Solicitor. Krista has demonstrated expertise in advising various regulatory bodies, including conducting secondments in sectors such as building and health. Her work frequently involves prosecuting on behalf of state and local government clients, and she is a familiar presence in tribunals and courts. Krista also shares her vast knowledge through presentations on regulatory matters to diverse client groups. One of her recent projects involved advising a newly established Victorian regulator on forming its initial operational policies and procedures. Additionally, she has participated in numerous government reviews to assess legal adequacy and the effectiveness of existing policies and procedures. Krista's previous roles include serving at Maddocks, where she progressed from Senior Associate to Special Counsel, contributing significantly in areas such as regulation, compliance, and enforcement, as well as licensing and statutory interpretation. Her early career saw her at the Australian Government Solicitor and Othams & Co., further honing her legal expertise. She is an alumna of Flinders University, where she completed her legal education.
