Catinca Hozoc-Martin

Catinca Hozoc-Martin is a dedicated legal professional with a rich background in Native Title and Mining Law. Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies and Modern History from the University of Western Australia, and a Bachelor of Laws from Murdoch University, Catinca brings a diverse educational foundation to her legal practice. Admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in November 2021, she has since focused on advising both Traditional Owner groups and mining companies. Her legal acumen is well-recognised through her active participation in the Warden’s Court of Western Australia and the National Native Title Tribunal. Catinca has also played a significant role in Native Title matters before the Federal Court of Australia. Her experiences are multifaceted, covering representation in matters involving mining tenement applications, interlocutory proceedings, and forfeiture applications. Additionally, she adeptly navigates expedited procedure and right to negotiate matters within the National Native Title Tribunal, including involvement in section 150 conferences and inquiries. Catinca's career includes key positions at Austwide Legal Pty Ltd, where she currently serves as an Associate, and previously at the Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation. Her earlier roles at Foyle Legal, Legal Aid Western Australia, and her voluntary work with Aboriginal Family Law Services have each contributed to her comprehensive understanding of legal processes and client service. She demonstrates a strong commitment to client relations through her time as an Information Officer, focusing on effective communication and client support. With a solid background in both legal practice and community service, Catinca Hozoc-Martin continues to build a practice that is both empathetic and proficient.
