Fabienne Else

Dr Fabienne Else is a dedicated solicitor at Hosking & Gosling Legal, having joined the firm following her admission to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2020. With a profound focus on victim’s compensation, Fabienne works tirelessly to advocate for children in the foster care system. Her commitment to this cause is evident in her efforts to drive policy changes that enhance support and compensation for children who have endured significant abuse. Fabienne's exceptional academic background includes a PhD in Law, for which she received an Examiner’s Commendation, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Bachelor of Arts, all from the University of Wollongong. She also completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Australian National University. Her scholarly pursuits have honed her research capabilities, allowing her to contribute expert knowledge to her team on complex legal matters. Prior to her current role, Fabienne completed a PhD that examined the impact of Intensive Correction Orders on Indigenous offenders in New South Wales, showcasing her dedication to exploring critical social justice issues. In addition to her legal practice, Fabienne is a casual academic in the Criminology department at the University of Wollongong, further contributing to large ARC-funded law projects. Her career also includes roles as a postdoctoral research assistant and various positions within the Aboriginal Legal Service, where she gathered considerable experience as both a paralegal and volunteer. Her wide-ranging expertise is complemented by her teaching role at the Woolungah Indigenous Centre, illustrating her commitment to education and community service.
