Mr Perrella's progression through the Commonwealth of Australia and the State of Western Australia's prosecutorial ranks equipped him with a deep understanding of evidence gathering, policy application, and strategic decision-making throughout trials. In 2011, Mr Perrella fulfilled his aspiration to establish a dedicated criminal law firm, Perrella Legal. His switch to criminal defence has since culminated in a reputation for securing noteworthy outcomes, including acquittals, dismissals, and non-custodial resolutions in serious indictable matters. His practice spans across all courts in Western Australia, with predominant involvement in the District and Magistrates Courts. Mr Perrella’s prosecutorial background is complemented by his extensive period as a State Prosecutor. He was involved in high-profile cases and developed a strong conviction rate while preparing and authorising numerous briefs for serious offences. Before founding his firm, he also served as a Senior Legal Officer with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. There, he handled complex prosecutions, such as those involving people-smuggling and handled hearings related to immigration centre disturbances. Mr Perrella’s legal acumen is further grounded in his early career experiences at the Geraldton Resource Centre, where he advised on civil, criminal, and family law matters and provided duty lawyer services. His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Philosophy, and Sociology, obtained from Murdoch University.
