About Yikai
Yikai Hoe, the Director of Provident Lawyers, founded the firm in March 2018 to bring his extensive expertise to a diverse range of clients. A graduate of the University of Western Australia, Yikai holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology with Honours. He was admitted to legal practice in the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory and Western Australia in 2008, and the High Court of Australia in 2010. Yikai has a strong affinity for superannuation and tax law, with a particular interest in all facets relating to Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs). He is adept at assisting clients and professional advisers with compliance issues, fund investments, and estate planning strategies tailored to SMSF holders. His passion for aiding small business clients is evident as he helps them navigate the legal hurdles encountered in the start-up and operational phases of their businesses. Before establishing Provident Lawyers, Yikai served as a tax consultant at a top-tier accounting firm, focusing on indirect taxation and state duties. He further honed his skills at a boutique law firm, concentrating on superannuation and taxation law for eight years. His linguistic abilities in Cantonese, Hokkien, and Mandarin complement his presentation skills, having shared his insights at Legalwise Seminars and the Tax Institute of Australia on varied superannuation and tax topics. Recognised as a Chartered Tax Adviser by the Tax Institute of Australia and accredited as an SMSF Specialist Advisor with the SMSF Association, Yikai continues to offer his clients comprehensive legal solutions. His practice areas also extend to property, trusts, succession planning, and estate planning, catering to a wide spectrum of legal needs within Western Australia and beyond.
