Yusuf Mohamud

Yusuf Mohamud is the co-founder of QM Lawyers, where he is dedicated to delivering high-quality legal advice with a deep sense of integrity. His passion for advocating on behalf of the underdog drives his commitment to his clients. Raised in Melbourne's northern suburbs, Yusuf has established strong connections with the local community, especially within the African diaspora. Before embarking on his legal career, he gained valuable experience in the banking and tertiary education sectors in both Melbourne and London. Yusuf's tenure at West Heidelberg Legal Service and his private practice with Mahir laid the foundation for his versatile legal expertise. Through the Victoria Legal Aid's New Lawyer Program, he developed his skills across a broad array of practice areas, with a particular emphasis on criminal law and advocacy. His dedication to community legal work is evident in his role at the Police Accountability Project at Flemington & Kensington Legal Service, where he concentrates on issues related to racialised policing. Understanding the intersection between legal services and support services, Yusuf has cultivated extensive networks with grassroots organisations, youth support services, healthcare providers, academics, and other stakeholders involved in litigious matters. He has represented clients in diverse disputes, including defamation, owner's corporation issues, discrimination, contractual conflicts, property matters, and intellectual property disputes. Outside his professional endeavours, Yusuf is an avid soccer enthusiast, both playing and supporting Liverpool FC. His love for the sport extends to his role as a Tribunal Member for Football Victoria, where he adjudicates on disciplinary conduct. Additionally, he enjoys exploring the great outdoors through camping and hiking across Victoria.
