Jackson Taylor is the Principal Lawyer and Owner of Roam Migration Law, where he serves as Managing Partner. With extensive experience in immigration law since 2008, Jackson focuses primarily on employer sponsored visa matters. His client base spans a diverse range of organisations, from large Fortune 500 and ASX-listed companies to emerging start-ups and boutique small to medium enterprises. His current practice encompasses employer sponsored visa applications, corporate compliance, the Global Talent visa program, and advocacy for policy reform. Jackson’s work sits at the intersection of immigration and employment law, with a particular interest in how government policies influence the workplace experiences of temporary migrants. He is engaged in advancing policy reforms related to business and skilled migration, leveraging academic research to enhance migration outcomes and support employer compliance obligations. A recognised thought leader in the field, Jackson regularly presents at national and international conferences on Australian immigration law and policy. He has lectured at the Australian Catholic University and is often featured in media commentary on immigration matters. Jackson has contributed to the profession in various leadership roles, including past Board membership of the Migration Institute of Australia and current participation on the Law Institute of Victoria Migration Law Committee and the Migration Institute of Australia Victoria and Tasmania State Committee. He holds the designation of Associate Fellow with the Migration Institute of Australia. In addition to his legal practice, Jackson is the co-founder and CEO of Complize, a regulatory technology start-up offering end-to-end immigration legal compliance solutions to organisations employing temporary visa holders in Australia. His academic credentials include a Juris Doctor (LLM) and Masters of Workplace and Employment Law from Monash University, a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Certificate in Australian Immigration Law and Practice from Victoria University, and a Diploma of Legal Practice from the University of Tasmania. Jackson was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 2015.
