Scott MacDonald

Scott MacDonald is a highly experienced lawyer and Partner at the firm, well-regarded for his expertise in estate dispute and family law matters. Known for his direct approach and honest advice, Scott has been a steadfast advocate for his clients since joining the firm in early 2018. He brings with him over sixteen years of invaluable experience from the Magistrates' Court of Victoria, where he began his legal career as a Registrar. His extensive work across metropolitan, suburban, and regional courts has provided him with a solid grounding in various legal areas, including criminal law, intervention orders, children's court matters, and general litigation. Driven by a desire to further his legal career, Scott pursued his law degree while maintaining his full-time position. He graduated from Deakin University in 2016, completed the Professional Practice Course at the Australian National University in 2017, and was admitted to legal practice later that year. Since becoming a part of the firm, Scott has cultivated a diverse legal practice. He advises clients on an array of issues, such as family law, general litigation, criminal and traffic matters, intervention orders, and wills and estate disputes, with a particular focus on Part IV claims. Scott's promotion to Partner in July 2020 was a testament to his dedication, leadership, and the positive influence he has on both his clients and colleagues. Currently, his primary focus is on deceased estate disputes and family law matters, while he also plays a crucial role in supporting the family law team.
