Angelique Watkins, the Owner, Director, and Principal Lawyer of Wilding Watkins, brings a distinguished career marked by an extensive legal background. As a lawyer and NMAS-accredited mediator, Angelique has developed her expertise in insurance, transport, financial services, and commercial law, offering tailored support to in-house teams through adaptable legal service options. Her practice involves collaborating closely with insurance brokers, banks, underwriters, P&I clubs, and SMEs, alongside significant contributions to the aviation and maritime sectors. Before founding Wilding Watkins, Angelique was heavily involved in private practice, focusing on advisory roles, contractual and asset finance work for key international airlines, banks, transport companies, and insurers. Her deep understanding of these industries is reflected in her work across Australia, Fiji, and the Middle East, advising on complex issues such as regulatory compliance, claims handling, litigation, and dispute resolution. Her career is enriched by roles such as Senior Legal Counsel at Plexus, where she contributed to legal compliance strategies and commercial legal consulting. At IOOF Holdings Ltd and ANZ Wealth, she undertook significant work on life insurance regulatory reforms, M&A matters, and advised on consumer protection issues. Her time at Marsh & McLennan Companies and her own consultancy, Watkins Fox Legal Consulting, saw her leading legal advisory services in transport, insurance, and commercial law. At Al Tamimi & Company, Angelique honed her skills in insurance and transport law, representing major airline and insurance clients. Earlier positions at HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, McCabe Terrill Lawyers, and AK Lawyers further developed her expertise in insurance litigation and commercial law.
