Michael Vieyra

Michael Vieyra is a seasoned litigation and commercial disputes lawyer with over 18 years of experience handling complex cases in both Australian and international arenas. Dual-qualified in Australia and South Africa, Michael has skillfully managed high-stakes disputes involving directors’ duties, negligence, contracts, and regulatory compliance. Michael's legal acumen is well-demonstrated through his work in the Federal and Supreme Courts, where he adopts a strategic, commercially minded approach to resolving disputes. He effectively utilises litigation, mediation, and negotiation to address issues across various industries, including healthcare, transport, and technology. Currently, as the Head of Litigation at Allied Legal, Michael leads his team in tackling intricate legal challenges. Before this, he cultivated his expertise with roles at KHQ Lawyers and SLF Lawyers, focusing on regulatory investigations and legal issues. His tenure at HWL Ebsworth Lawyers and previous positions in South Africa at Strauss Daly Inc and ENSafrica have further enriched his extensive skill set. Michael's academic foundation was established at the University of Cape Town, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Law with Dean's Merit, following a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Political Studies. His involvement as a Law Student Councillor highlights his longstanding commitment to the legal field.
