Emma Maxwell is the esteemed Director and Founder of Anchored Family Law, where she combines her deep understanding of family law with a compassionate approach to client care. After experiencing the challenges of motherhood during the COVID-19 lockdowns, Emma was inspired to establish her own practice, dedicated to addressing family legal matters in a more empathetic and supportive manner. Emma's career has been shaped by extensive experience in crafting high-quality court documents, with some of her work serving as educational exemplars in the legal community. Her practice is characterised by a trauma-informed approach, ensuring that clients receive the strength, reliability, and support they need during pivotal life transitions. Living on a regional property in Victoria with her family and a variety of animals, Emma balances her personal life with her professional commitments, offering online, fixed-fee legal services that cater to the diverse needs of her clients. Her proficiency in parenting and custody law, as well as divorce law, underscores her dedication to guiding clients through complex legal processes towards a new phase in their lives. Emma's career includes roles such as Senior Associate at Heinz Law and BJT Legal, and as an Associate focusing on class actions at Maurice Blackburn Lawyers. Emma holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts, along with a Postgraduate Diploma of Legal Practice. She is admitted to practise in the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Victoria.
