About Daniela
Daniela Parlapiano is an accomplished solicitor who has been serving the legal community since her admission to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 1995. A graduate with Honours from James Cook University, Daniela began her legal journey in Cairns, gaining valuable experience at Farrellys Lawyers, where she initially worked as an Articled Clerk and subsequently as a Solicitor. Her dedication and commitment to the legal profession led her to the role of Legal Officer at the Public Trustee of Queensland. In 1999, Daniela made the decision to return to her roots in Mareeba, where she joined Apels Solicitors & Notary. Over her extensive tenure of more than two decades, she has made significant contributions that were recognised when she was appointed as a Senior Associate in 2020. Daniela's broad practice encompasses a wide range of areas, including family law, wills, powers of attorney, and administration of deceased estates. Her expertise further spans complex estate claims, including litigation and dispute resolution, as well as commercial, residential, and rural conveyancing. Daniela also brings her legal acumen to commercial leasing, debt recovery, and provides general advice to clients. Her experience is complemented by her active involvement in her community. She is a former President of the Women’s Legal Service and has held leadership roles such as Co-ordinator for the St Thomas's Catholic Parish Debutante Ball. Currently, Daniela serves on the St Thomas’ Catholic Parish Finance Committee and has previously contributed as a Board member of St Stephens Catholic College and Treasurer of the Tablelands Athletic Club. Daniela's legal proficiency and dedication to her community have made her a respected figure in both her professional and local circles.
