Dr Nazir Daawar is the Principal Solicitor at Ariana Defence Lawyers, a role he has held since 2008. With extensive experience in court advocacy, Dr Daawar appears across NSW and Federal Courts and Tribunals, and occasionally at the International Criminal Court. His practice encompasses criminal law, family law, migration law, and human rights, providing a comprehensive legal service that addresses a diverse range of client needs. Dr Daawar's legal journey began with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Technology Sydney. He pursued further academic excellence with a Master of Laws and a Ph.D. in Transitional Justice, Accountability and the Rule of Law from UNSW, highlighting his commitment to understanding the deeper intricacies of law and justice. Prior to establishing Ariana Defence Lawyers, he honed his skills at Demir Legal and Greenfield Lawyers, building a robust foundation in criminal defence. He also contributed to the Aboriginal Legal Services, reflecting his dedication to advocating for justice across various communities. Dr Daawar's experience extends beyond legal practice into international arenas, having served as a program head and UN Team Leader.
