Julian Porter serves as the Principal at Barber Porter Solicitors, bringing a wealth of experience from his extensive legal career. Before co-founding the firm, Julian spent 15 years at Suncoast Community Legal Service, where he held the role of Managing Solicitor. During his tenure, he was dedicated to addressing a wide range of legal issues impacting the local community on the Sunshine Coast and Noosa regions. Julian's passion for Elder Law and Succession has driven him to not only practice in these fields but also share his insights as a lecturer at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Julian commenced his legal journey at Crown Law Queensland, contributing to appeals, prosecutions and advocacy. His career path included significant time at Queensland Advocacy Inc, where he was involved in legal advocacy within a systemic disability advocacy service. His academic credentials were established at the Queensland University of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Laws, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Arts (Journalism), showcasing his multifaceted talents. Outside the legal sphere, Julian finds solace in nature and is an avid mountain biker, frequently exploring the trails at Parklands Conservation Reserve.
