Searle Batten

Searle Batten holds a Bachelor of Laws from both the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, and the University of Melbourne. With over 20 years of experience, Searle has a strong background in commercial litigation and has represented a diverse clientele, including companies, family businesses, and individuals. His work frequently involves purchasing and selling businesses and handling various commercial transactions. Additionally, Searle has in-depth knowledge of Alpine Law. In his role as Managing Partner at Batten Sacks, Searle demonstrates excellent leadership, administration, and management capabilities. Outside of his legal career, he is an enthusiastic golfer, skier, and cyclist, and follows multiple football codes, with a particular interest in rugby union. Searle’s areas of practice include commercial agreements, hospitality matters such as liquor and gaming licenses, childcare acquisitions, sales and leasing, franchising, business start-ups, leasing and property issues, and commercial litigation. His experience in buying and selling businesses and Alpine property transactions further complements his broad legal expertise.
