Kai Leung

Kai Leung is a partner at Bellarmine Lawyers, bringing a unique blend of business acumen and legal expertise to his practice. Before entering the legal field, Kai had an extensive career as a chief financial officer for both public-listed and private companies, spanning more than a decade. His leadership roles within the Asia Pacific region encompassed Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and the USA, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of international and regional business operations. Throughout his career, Kai has effectively managed legal and financial functions, offering insightful guidance to private equity and venture capital firms. He has a robust background in advising corporate boards and senior management on complex issues such as funds raising, mergers and acquisitions, investments, divestments, and initial public offerings. Kai is skilled in negotiating and drafting both local and cross-border commercial contracts, as well as forming joint ventures and strategic alliances. Dedicated to community service, Kai actively participates in pro bono work and serves on the board of a not-for-profit organisation in Victoria. He holds a law degree from Monash University and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia. Additionally, he possesses an MBA from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and Finance from Edith Cowan University.
