Jodie Van-Vegchel, an Associate Solicitor admitted to practice in December 2023, brings a wealth of experience despite her junior title. Her legal journey began with 12 years of groundwork at respected firms across Far North Queensland, where she honed her expertise in family law, domestic violence, criminal law, child safety and youth justice, good behaviour orders, and consumer law. Jodie's role as a Court Officer for Youth Justice saw her vigorously advocating for young people caught in the justice system, a responsibility she continues to embrace with passion. Jodie understands the unique challenges men face during family separation and is committed to achieving the best outcomes for her clients. In addition to her advocacy in family and domestic violence cases, she is a seasoned representative in both the Magistrates and District Court for criminal matters and actively engages within the Specialist Domestic Violence Court jurisdiction in Townsville. Throughout her career, Jodie held various pivotal roles, including as a Junior Lawyer at Benchmark Law Services and a Court Coordinator with the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs.
