Jennifer Robertson

Jennifer Robertson is the Managing Director at Board Matters and a practising lawyer with a notable career spanning over three decades. Her journey in the legal and corporate governance sectors began with an LLB from Queensland University of Technology. After more than a decade in private legal practice, including a significant tenure at Corrs Chambers Westgarth as a Senior Associate, Jennifer transitioned to corporate governance consultancy at Board Matters. Over 18 years later, she leads the firm with expertise and vision. Her extensive experience is reflected in her board appointments across a myriad of sectors, including statutory bodies, public authorities, and financial entities. Jennifer has held esteemed roles such as Deputy Chair of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission, Expert Member on the Work Health and Safety Board, and was notably the first independent member on the Queensland Fire Emergency Services’ Board. Jennifer's international influence is underscored by her appointment to Nasdaq's Center for Board Excellence Insights Council, the only individual from the Southern Hemisphere to hold such a position. Her leadership extends to her roles as Chair of Harwell Home Care and as a board member of several distinguished organisations. Jennifer is also an accomplished author, having contributed to the Australian Institute of Company Directors with insights into the evolving role of company secretaries. Her contributions to the industry reflect her commitment to fostering good governance and mentoring the next generation of leaders.
