Stacey Carter

Stacey Carter is the principal of Carter & Co Lawyers and an experienced Barrister and Solicitor admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia. After completing a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice and a Bachelor of Arts at Flinders University, she advanced her legal training at the University of California. Her career began with the Federal Government in Canberra, where she provided complex legal advice on high-profile litigation in areas such as immigration, criminal law, and national security. Stacey later earned a master’s degree in Law, focusing on international criminal law, including human trafficking, organised crime, and human rights. In her legal practice, Stacey has extensive experience defending clients in serious criminal matters, including cases involving murder, drug trafficking, and fraud. She has taught at the University of South Australia Law School and serves on the Criminal Law Committee of the Law Society of South Australia. In 2016, she was appointed to the South Australian Sentencing Advisory Council, contributing to the development of sentencing law reform.
