

Annette Stone is a founding Partner of Ballarat Lawyers, bringing extensive expertise in family law, backed by her accreditation as a Family Law Specialist since 2016. She began her legal career in the United Kingdom, qualifying in England and Wales in 2002. Annette has dedicated over two decades to practising law, initially spending eight years focused on family law in the UK before relocating to Australia in 2010 to continue her practice. In her role at Ballarat Lawyers, Annette has been instrumental in providing clients with clear and practical advice, tackling all areas of family law. Her calm and supportive approach helps guide clients smoothly through often complex and stressful legal proceedings. Her breadth of experience includes her directorship and ongoing commitments at the Central Highlands Community Legal Centre, where she has volunteered as a solicitor since 2013. Prior to her current role, Annette was an Accredited Specialist in Family Law with Harper Buscombe & Madden and honed her legal acumen with firms such as Nevett Ford Lawyers in Melbourne and several renowned firms in London, including B P Collins Solicitors, Mishcon de Reya, and Speechly Bircham. Her foundational legal training began with her time as a Trainee and Associate Solicitor at EM Collins. Annette's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Laws from King's College London, graduating with a 2:2, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Inns of Court School of Law, where she earned a distinction. She is also a member of Lincoln's Inn, which complimented her academic pursuits.
